Hey Group 12,
Great presentation! I thought that the strong points of your presentations was all of your information that you provided about the Ipod. I think that the information regarding the correlation between ipod sales and the apple stock price was awsome. I would have explained the stock price and why it fluctuated so much up and down more though. Overall, you could tell that this powerpoint was well thought out, and we enjoyed the way you presented it. This is a really good source that you can use. http://www.news.com/Apple-earnings-continue-to-hum-along/2100-1045_3-5669710.html Keep up the good work, Group 3 |

Hey Z, good presentation buddy. I liked how you talked about the iPod, because it's so common these days, but lots of people don't know much about it.
I think for your capstone project, you should answer questions such as... 1. Weren't there other MP3's before the iPod, but why were they failures? 2. Why is Apple constantly coming out with new designs? 3. How did Steve Jobs have such a tremendous effect? Here are some websites that can help... http://www.wired.com/gadgets/mac/news/2004/02/62396 http://www.technologyreview.com/advertisement.aspx?ad=infotech&redirect=%2FInfotech%2F13817%2F%3Fa=f http://www.macminute.com/2005/05/14/ipod-impact-radio/ good luck |

Overall the presentation was good. You seem to have a nice background on the information. You seem to know the differences that Vista has compared to XP. The only thing that I can suggest is maybe expanding the description of what the actual differences are. In effort to help you do this, here is a link to an article that seems to be extremely revelent to your topic:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,289431,00.html Not only is the article relevent but there is also a video link in which you can hear a personal experience with the problems of Vista. Hopefully this can help you build on your foundation and make a successful project. Sorry about the tardiness of the post, I have been having problems posting that just got fixed yesterday. Hope this helps and good luck. |

This presentation was very well done and the powerpoint is very effective. It seemed to cover all the points of a cashless society and you even left some questions to assist us in making comments, which was nice.
Hopefully this article that we found will help you answer some of the questions. This article talks about how a cashless society will be dangerous to individual freedoms. There are many dangers in becoming cashless and this article sums these up in regards to different forms of cashless payments. Here is the link: http://curezone.com/art/read.asp?ID=146&db=1&C0=11 Sorry about the tardiness of the post, I have been having trouble with the ability to actually post on this site. It just got fixed yesterday so I got these up as soon as possible. Hopefully this article offers more examples and helps you answer some questions. Good luck. |

This presentation was very interesting and definitely kept my attention because search engines are so popular. The video clip was a nice presentation technique.
After going through your presentation again, you do touch on the security issues of search engines. To expand that topic, look into how Facebook is now allowing their users to be searched through Google. Is this an invasion of the privacy controls Facebook supposedly has? Here is a link to an article about the publicity of Facebook: http://domainsmagazine.com/Domains_18/Domain_8853.shtml Check it out. Maybe it is a topic that can add to your presentation seeing that it is a new problem regarding search engines. Sorry about the late posting, I have been having trouble with my ability to post that just got fixed yesterday. Good luck. |

This presentation was very effective and the powerpoint is very well done. Format-wise the powerpoint was put together nicely. The only suggestion I have for the powerpoint is that on my laptop it was kind of hard to read some of the information because of the graphics. On a larger screen, it might be easier, but just keep that in mind when making the final project.
As far as information goes, the presentation is very thorough. You do a good job covering all aspects of the Ecommerce world. I found an interesting article about eBay trying to expand in the future to a global eCommerce business using new programs. Here's the link to the article: http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9729018-7.html Maybe that will offer you another topic to explore as part of the presentation. Overall, nice job and sorry about the tardiness of the posting. I have been having problems posting that just got fixed yesterday. Hope it helps. |

great presentation, your outline for what you will cover in your project seems really thorough, however this seems to be a common topic amoung our class, so our suggestion would be to try and take a different approach to p2p programs than the other groups, if thats at all possible. Also, definitely have lots of statistics and facts to support your theories and statements, for example if you say that p2p programs affect the music industry have some sort of statistic to back that up.

great presentation, our advice would be to elaborate more on the programs that google has bought, such as you tube and baidu, so we can see in what other areas and programs google is spreading to. Also, you could go into mroe specifics about google, such as how many hits they get a day or other statistics about the actual website to show just how powerful and popular it is.

Of course downloading music is a big deal with college students and all the information that you can present would be extremely helpful in letting us know what could happen if we illegally download and how they are planning on building onto of DRM as illegal downloading gets more and more advanced

Hey guys, we were very interested in your topic and how it is revolutionizing online shopping and possibly other kinds in the future. I think it would be helpful to show statistics on how much paypal is used throughout the year and how a company like that is started and manages to make money

We really liked your assignment and feel that ecommerce is quickly taking over for regular shopping not only for the ease but the quickness of shopping from home. We feel that some statistics maybe about how many auctions are on ebay a year and how much worth of goods has been sold.

We think that this presentation has covered the topic well in terms of pros and cons, but we also think that there should be more statistical evidence to help us understand the cons especially. Also, I think this presentation should go more in-depth about how this could affect us instead of the comanies.. because frankly, people don't sympathize with companies as much as they do with themselves.. maybe you guys could talk about certain shows and how you think a drop in their budget would affect the quality of the show.
We also think that shows will not be cancelled and entertainment will not cease.. We think getting shows for free will weed out less enjoyable shows, because less people will tune in to them and less people will D.L them. In that respect we believe that P2P will make entertainment even better. On top of all that, shows could charge more for product placement/ branding in their show to promote sales and they would receive it, too. anyway, We also found your comparison of legitimate to illegit companies very useful.. if you could put that on a slide by itself and make it bigger and include more companies, it would be even more effective. good luck guys! |

Do you guys think you could help us find anything along the lines of accessory sales?
It would help us, because we could compare the revenue of merchandise sales to the revenue of hardware sales (i.e. sale of all accessories including headphones, speakers..etc.. compared to sales of actual iPod units) |

We think that it's awesome how you guys discussed do much in depth stuff about Google, but we also think you guys drifted away from your primary focus because you ask (rhetorically) if Google is too powerful, yet the presentation doesn't really explain how they allocate that power, where they exercise it, etc...
Also, Think about the Internet; it is a worldwide thing.. Maybe if you compared Google to other major companies you could explain how "gentle" Google is compared to other Co.s. right now and in the verbal presentation it seemed this group stated that the CEO(s) of Google did no harm because "they were too rich" and they dont need to take control of the web, but what if they did? what could be the effects, and what laws restrict them from becoming too powerful at this point? In addition, think about the older times in America when Rockefeller had all the oil, or another parallel that demonstrates something like a Monopoly.. Do you think Google is getting close to forming a Monopoly? after all, it IS buying out a lot of small tech companies.. could that be a sign? |

I think you've got this planned out well.
another group is also doing this same thing, except, they appear to be alittle more developed than you guys, but I think it's good, because with two groups presenting, we think that the chances of learning more are greater. anyway, I think we can help by providing some links such as: -The laws concerning copyright: http://www.copyright.gov/ - P2P software: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/p2ppeertopeer/tp/p2pfilesharing.htm - General P2P related articles: http://news.surfwax.com/tech/files/Limewire_tech.html - An interesting story tying P2P with Identity Theft: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071106/ap_on_hi_te/id_theft;_ylt=A0WTUe_5XjBHCUQBRCEjtBAF I think group 1 will argue why P2P is good as opposed to bad, so I think if you took the P.O.V of a big music company, you could make this presentation very interesting as opposed to boring, but it's your choice since you will prbly be going before G1 for the final presentation. good luck! |

you had a great presentation during class, and the material is also very good. Some things I would recommend about the aesthetics is that you use more pictures (even though the animation was really great) and I also think some better stats would help.. for example, try to mention some artists who have benefitted from P2P..
content-wise, I think it would be really awesome if you could talk about a program called Shazzle. It has just made it's very first debut here on Bentley Campus, and it is supposed to have Peer to Peer sharing, but I don't know how they can do that, because apparently P2P is illegal. If you could find out more about that, then I think this presentation would be very useful. |

attractive as she is, I think Gawker Stalker made a poor choice in having her represent them in this debate.
The company she works for not only promotes false information, but it breaches privacy and exploits it, putting people at risk of harm, and further, it is mostly useless. She states that gawker usually does not lead people to the celebrities because it has a delay, which translates to "the site is actually basically useless.." She does not do her job as an editor, and she even tries to justify her/her company's actions with the excuse that it has been going on for four years, and nothing has happened yet.. this is a poor excuse because it only means that the site has been getting away with all these misdemeanors for four years.. If a convict were loose for four years, he would still be a convict. Privacy is something we can easily maintain. by keeping information from the web, we can protect ourselves from potential harm. Myspace and Facebook- common targets of privacy issues, both contain privacy setting to help protect individuals. As for slander, it is an inevitable effect of the free flow of information, however, it is up to editors such as Emily to keep these incidents to a minimum, but as Kimmel says, stalker.com does no editing. In these sorts of cases, I think the only thing that applies is the Golden Rule. If people want to protect themselves, they shouldn't put others in harms way.

Your topic was interesting because eBay is something that a lot of us use. The information you provided was helpful.
The second slide had too many words on it and it they were too small. It was difficult to read and follow. You worked hard to make your slides visually interesting and a lot of the techniques and backgrounds that you used were good, but like the second slide, the information was often difficult to read and follow. On the whole, good job. |

You chose a really good topic. Everybody uses search engines very frequently, so it is very applicable to all of our lives. It was interesting to learn how a search engine works.
the video on youtube was a very nice touch, It made your presentation more visual and detailed. The pie chart also had a similar effect. You were very effective at using the different types of media. The effects on students, society, and business were important ot talk about. You applied your topic to the world at large and that was very effective at illustrating what search engines actually do and what their roles are. |

Your presentation was very informative. I hadn't known really anything about PayPal until i saw your presentation, and now I feel really informed.
The graphics and screen shots in your presentation make it very interesting and it keeps your audience involved. When you talked about eBay's relationship with paypal, it was really good. It brought business into the equation, and I guess that's why we are all here. The batman and robin thing was pretty funny. The page on which you described how paypal works really helped me understand it. When you talked about the possible effects of something like paypal, such as a cashless society, it really made your presentation relevent. Very good job. |
